About a month back I did a blog post on ‘10 unbeatable tips for successful career’ I was reading it last night and thought like doing a rejoinder to it for my readers.
It’s an open secret that there is no bulletproof path that you can take to career success. No two individuals are ever the same or have the same fate. However, we can learn from examples set by those before us to chart our own path and hope to attain success. Over the years, many analysts have looked at the path taken by successful individuals and then used this information as a guide towards their own unbeatable successful career.

1. Take on Leadership Roles:

The most successful leaders showed signs of good leadership from their youth. From this early involvement in leadership roles, they gain valuable experience in understanding how to work with different individuals and gaining their trust. So assuming leadership roles offers a good training ground for future leadership roles.

2. Continuous Self-Assessment:

Without badgering yourself, conduct prudent self-assessment of your achievements. This involves both financial, education achievements, and your potential to improve yourself.

3. Create a Career Development Plan:

Creating a development plan gives an outline of where you would like to be in your educational, professional and financial development by a certain age.

4. Know Your Strengths:

This is a very important factor to a successful career. Many individuals enter fields where they are not at their best. This happens sometimes out of desperation but it seriously restricts their career growth. By knowing their strengths, individuals will find working in their particular field more enjoyable. They will be prepared to go the extra mile just for self-satisfaction of seeing a job well done. In addition, learning and career growth will be significantly easier.

5. Continuous Education:

Continuous education is a sure path to career success. This includes both structured degree programs and specialized certificate programs that are specific to their field. These continuous programs will significantly increase your knowledge in your field and give a significant competitive edge.

6. Communicate your Career Goals with Management:

If your organization is one that encourages employee development and internal career growth, it would be wise to state your career growth with time management from an early stage. This is sometime seen as a threat by insecure individuals, but any forward-thinking manager will accommodate your career and educational growth. The rest is left to you to meet these expectations.

7. Do Volunteer Work:

A record of volunteer work does wonders on your resume. It shows that you are not self-centered and willing to give back some of what you have gained to those who are less fortunate.

8. Play some Sports:

Without becoming a professional athlete, some sports involvement can give a boost to your career growth. Sports give exposure to all types of individuals. You may be surprised at some of the sports played by senior managers. Imagine going to a job interview only to find that the interviewer is the same guy you met at the golf course last week.

9. Stay Current in Your Field:

Remember that the use of technology is causing the systems used in various fields to change rapidly. By keeping current with these changes, it shows your interest level and turns the light toward you when it comes to promotions.

10. Get a Mentor:

A good mentor will guide you through your various career choices. This individual must be one who is interested in your success as a professional.
