From this week, ANZ Rewards Visa will now have an accompanying American Express (Amex) card to enable customers to maximise their points earning potential.
This follows the introduction of an Amex card to its ANZ Frequent Flyer Visa last year.
- Customers will now have the choice to use either their ANZ Rewards Visa card or American Express card when making purchases with the simplicity of one account, one interest rate, one annual fee, one statement and one credit limit.
- The improved proposition has recently received a 5 Star CANSTAR CANNEX rating.
- ANZ Rewards is historically one of ANZ’s most popular credit cards and offers customers reward points for everyday purchases including shopping vouchers, travel and merchandise.
- By using a combination of the Visa and Amex cards, ANZ Rewards offers customers the quickest way to redeem points for rewards than any other everyday rewards card*. With regular spending on ANZ Rewards, people can earn a $50 shopping voucher in as little as three months**.
- New ANZ Rewards customers will receive both the Visa and the Amex cards when they successfully apply for the card. Existing customers can opt in to receive the accompanying Amex card and upgrade to the higher points earn rates by paying the same annual fee.
The new ANZ Rewards earn rates are as follows:
- The launch of ANZ Rewards will also include two customer offers:
- Double points for the first three months for new customers who apply between 18 April – 1 June 2010.
- ExistingANZ Rewards customers will receive an additional 4,000 rewards points (up until 31 May 2010) if they request and use the ANZ Rewards American Express card.

- Uncapped reward points
- Up to 44 interest free days on credit purchases
*(excludes Qantas-linked programs)
**Spend of $6,055 – assuming 70% spend on the ANZ Rewards Visa and 30% on the ANZ Rewards American Express card on purchases within three months to redeem for a $50 gift voucher).
